Music Quality: In terms of Music quality I would rate Spotify higher than Grooveshark. Advertisements: The revenue model of both the services highly depends on ads. On one hand Grooveshark only shows you visual ads, but Spotify at times can be highly disturbing because it periodically interrupts your playlists with audio ads, unless you have a paid account. I personally feel that audio ads are more disturbing than visual ones so I would give an edge to Grooveshark.

1) Please do not impose your music, videos and games on others while using your iPhone in public.

This is the most basic etiquette for iPhone users and is very easy to follow. I have seen many people hanging around in public areas and playing loud music or videos. Please ensure to avoid such incidence where you are using your iPhone like a BoomBox at a public place. Please keep the bright screen of your iPhone towards yourself and use earphones or headphones when you are at public places.

2) Please disable or remove the footer while sending an email.

I know that the footer is a default setting, however you can easily change it to something that is more professional or personal depending on your email usage or you can simply delete it. To be honest such footers like “Sent from an iPhone” does not look good in email conversations unless you are trying to impress someone. . If you are using the phone for corporate or business purpose, then I understand that you have to avoid any mistakes while drafting the email and hence you have kept the footer. However you could still modify the footer accordingly to suit your business need instead of flaunting your iPhone. Personally I use this footer “Please excuse the terseness of this email as it has been sent from a hand held device.”

3) Please do not use your iPhone while driving.

This is the most important etiquette for iPhone users and must be strictly followed. I have seen many people who are tempted to use iPhones while they are stuck in traffic or they are waiting at a traffic signal. Please note that its completely insane, cell phones are not supposed to be used while driving for your own safety. I agree that iPhone has a bouquet of multimedia apps, etc, however please resist to it until you reach safely. Your iPhone is not going to run anywhere; you can use it once you have reached your destination.

4) Please don’t push people while playing games in public.

I know those car-driving, bike racing games are so much exciting. But please note that everyone has its own personal space. Please don’t push or poke people while using iPhones in public.

5) Know the difference

I agree the Apple owners already have a superior reputation; however there is no need to superimpose it to your friends and other people. Okay! I know that some of you would say that you guys are really not trying to superimpose it on others, so here is a question for you guys. Do you think there is a difference in saying “Check out this cool app!” and “I have better apps than you!” or not?

Portable computing devices like Laptop have changed the way we used to look at those bulky squared headed giants used for computing. The portability of laptops have been one of the best feature that lead to their success. However its battery life has been the biggest flaw of laptops. I guess we all would have gone through the time when we are in middle of a very important task and meanwhile our laptop is running out of battery. So here are 32 Tips on how to increase laptop battery life.

1. As you all would know defragmentation arranges the data on your hard drive. The more your data is arranged on the hard drive, the less it takes your hard drive to access the data. Therefore the less you hard drive takes to access the data, the less load is placed on the battery. Please make it a habit to defragment your laptop regularly.

2. Background processes also cause a load on the battery so it’s always suggested to end any un-necessary background applications or processes.

3. Pause any scheduled tasks like virus scan. You can also disable anti-virus and firewall if you are not connected to internet.

4. Switch your Power Plan to “Balanced “plan.

5. Change advanced power settings to fine tune your power-saving preferences.

6. Remove any external devices like USB devices (including mouse) and WiFi if they are not in use.

7. Disable your wireless internet and Bluetooth if you are not using it currently.

8. Remove CD and DVD drives if you don’t intend to use it.

9. Instead of using external drives or DVD\CD drives, move your content to virtual drives like Pismo File Mount or Microsoft Virtual CD ROM.

18. Clean air vents of laptop regularly to prevent any blockages and while using laptop keep it at a clean place away from dust.

20. If you are using Ni-MH battery then you could improve battery life by completely discharging and then recharging the battery at least once in every fortnight.

21. Update your softwares and device drivers regularly.

The Basic Logic behind the Trick: Most of the mobile carriers have free Email to SMS gateways which can be used to forward simple text emails to mobile phones. And the best part is these gateways are available to general public.

How to Send a Text Message Using Email:

1. Log on to your email account and open the new email button where you can compose new emails.

2. Now type the message that you want to send in the body of the mail try to keep the message of 160 characters as longer messages may get truncted.

3. Its better to leave the subject field blank.

4. Now type the recipient’s 10 digit mobile number followed by an “@” and the cell cariers email domin for text messaging.

5. Ensure that you have removed your email signature from rthe email body as having an email signature in your sms is quiet absurd.

6. After this click the “Send” button and your message is sent.

For example if the recipents number is “9876543210″ and Virgin Mobile is the service provider then, the sms gateway domain is “vmobl.com” so in the “To: ” field you have to enter [email protected]
