Lava Intel XOLO x900 Review

Intel the renowned chip making company has joined hands with Indian handset maker Lava to bring the latest upcoming Lava Intel Xolo X900 phone. The point that is worth highlighting in the phone is it’s the first Smartphone in its class that is powered by Intel’s Atom Z2460. Intel’s Atom Z2460 is the fastest processor available in the market at this time. It will be available in the market from April 23 at a price of Rs 22000 or $440 approx.

Lava XOLO x900 Displays and Camera:

The phone has a 4.03 inch screen having a resolution of 1024×600. With this resolution the phone will have around 295 pixels per inch with 16M colours.  The phone has a TFT LCD capacitive touch covered with a corning Gorilla Glass.

XOLO x900 has a 8 megapixel rear camera with a LED flash. The camera is capable of taking videos at 10fps in bust mode and 1080p video recording. The enormous processing power gives the phone a capability to take 10 pictures in 10 seconds! Isn’t it huge?

That is not all, apart from the rear camera the phone also has a Front Camera with 1.3Megapixel camera.

Processor and Operating System:

XOLO x900 is the first Smartphone that is powered by the Intel’s Atom Z2460, which has a processing power of 1.6GHz. The processor inside the phone also supports Hyper Threading, which can greatly improve multitasking on the phone.

The graphics chip that the phone has, is clocked at 400Mhz enabling it to playback full HD content and HD games. XOLO x900 has an Android 2.3 Gingerbread Operating system. An update to ICS is expected to be available early next quarter.

Lava Intel XOLO x900  Design and Battery Backup:

The phone has dimensions of 123×63 with the thickness of 10.99mm. The phone weighs 127 grams. The phone has a slot for sim card and two more slot for micro USB and micro HDMI.

In the terms of power efficiency the phone has a 15.5 hr talk time and 42.9 hours battery backup while playing music (using earphones). In all the phone has a standby time of 14 days.

Additional features:

Apart from the above mentioned features the phone also has sensors like; Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Magnetometer, Ambient Light Sensor and Proximity sensor. These sensors will prove great while playing games and also for many apps. The phone supports MP3, MIDI, WAV, WMA, 3GPP audio formats and MPEG4, 3GPP, WMC, H.264, VP8 video formats.

The phone supports Edge/GPRS, WCDMA and HSPA+ connectivity.

The phone will become available for the customers from April 23 at Croma stores and at Xolo.in, and it will become available at local retailers by the end of May 2012.

1.6 gig hertz processing power that is something in smart phone. it was not too long ago when laptops used to be have less then 1.6ghz

Never tried Lava. My friend was looking for a Budget phone in rage of Rs 6K, any advice ?
