In this article I am going to explain how to remove Exif data form images. But before I begin with the actual topic I think that I should give you a brief intro about what exactly “EXIF DATA” is.
What is Exif Data?
EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) data is the metadata about an image. Whenever you take any picture from a digital device, at that time the information about your device also gets stored in the image itself. Generally, this is done to help the photographers, because it records important information such as shutter speed, aperture and date of capture but sometimes this information can also be a little personal too. Like in many cameras the geographical location is also captured in the EXIF tags.
In the above image see how the Exif Data can reveal the information about your camera.
So, If you have a habit of uploading your images online then it poses a threat that someone can easily know about you, your location and your camera by simply opening the image in some basic image editor program. So, as a general secure practice you should delete this Exif data.

Its really helpful. Thanks for posting this.
Cheerio.
I’m frustrated that the online remover does not allow processing of files greater than one megabyte. And considering the installable software I prefer EXIFCleaner by Superutils since it is very configurable and handles a lot of metadata formats.
