Facebook Messenger is an official tool from facebook that enables users to launch facebook chat right from their desktops without logging in to the web-based Facebook chat. This application offers chat, messaging and facebook notifications. The application is very light weight and can run flawlessly. After having a looking at its features I can bet this is going to be one of the most used messenger clients in near future.
Installation Steps for Facebook Messenger Desktop:
- Firstly download the installer from the the link given below, after downloading the installer it needs an internet connection to install.
- Simply run it and it will connect to the internet and will get installed on your machine.
- After installing you can open the facebook messenger desktop client and login to it.
- For logging in, it takes you to facebook page where you have to hit the button “Keep me logged in”
- After this you are all set to use it.
How to use Facebook Messenger Desktop:
- After you are logged in you can see a window as shown above, with three buttons on the top for friend requests, messages and Notifications.
- As you click on any of your friend a chat window gets opened and there you can chat with your friend.
- Alternatively you can enter your friends name in the below search box and hit enter, and it opens a new chat window.

Compatibility:
As of now the application only supports 32 bits operating systems and it might create some problems in the 64 bit operating systems.
